Pino Daniele

(Naples 1955 – Rome 2015)

A syncretic spirit pervades the production of Pino Daniele
(1955-2015), a gifted guitarist and genius composer, who mingled blues,
jazz and Neapolitan folklore and dialect in his songs. This marriage of
blues and “tarantella,” which Daniele himself labels “taramblù”, is
prominent in Nero a metà (1980), Vai mò (1981) and Bella ’Mbriana
(1982), earning Daniele a well-deserved spot in the Hall of Fame of
Italy’s folk and pop music.
